The Black Cauldron, Walt Disney Pictures’ 25th animated feature-length film, celebrates its 25th anniversary with aSpecial Edition DVD release September 14 from Walt Disney Home Entertainment.  Based on Lloyd Alexander’sChronicles of Prydain books, this mystical, action-packed adventure debuts just in time for Halloween. The film tells the story of Taran, an apprentice pig keeper with dreams of becoming a great warrior, who embarks on a quest to find a magical and powerful Black Cauldron before the evil tyrant Horned King can possess it for his own diabolical purposes.  Fantastical characters like the oracular pig Hen Wen, the willful princess Eilonwy, and the droll but annoying Gurgi face witches, elves, magic swords and other obstacles.  As they journey through these thrilling escapades, Taran begins to learn the true meaning of what it is to be a hero.  
Exciting new bonus features for The Black Cauldron: 25th Anniversary Special Edition include a new game and a never-before-seen deleted scene as well as a new digital transfer.

Warner Bros and Hanna-Barbera are going to release the entire run of the cartoon series Pirates of Dark Water to DVD August 31, 2010.

Robert Rodriguez’s Predators reboot will arrive on DVD & Blu-ray October 19, 2010, and the details about the releases are now available!

Synopsis:

Royce (Adrien Brody), a mercenary, wakes up finding himself falling from the sky into a jungle. Once on the ground, he meets other people who have arrived there in the same manner, all of whom have questionable backgrounds, except for a doctor (Topher Grace). As the film progresses, the group discovers that they are on an alien planet that acts as a game reserve to which they are being hunted by a merciless race of aliens known as Predators.

Toy Story 3, the biggest film of the year, is coming to Blu-ray and DVD on November 2, 2010 according to Disney. 

You’ll be able to choose from four different releases of the movie:

• Spanish language only DVD

Check out this 12 minute video that describes what will happen in Superman/Batman: Apocalypse.

Superman/Batman: Apocalypse will arrive on DVD & Blu-ray September 28, 2010.

Redbox announced that it has started renting Blu-ray discs at 13,300 kiosks across the United States for a $1.50 a day plus tax!

Blu-ray availability across its entire network of kiosks is expected by Fall 2010.

According to Dwayne McDuffie, the DC Comics series All-Star Superman is coming to life on DVD and Blu-ray in an all new animated movie thanks to Warner Bros Home Entertainment.

No other news is known at this time, but the movie is expected in the Spring of 2011.

At SDCC 2010, DC Entertainment revealed plans to collect all of the DC Showcase animated shorts together and release them all on DVD and Blu-ray as a compilation. 

Featuring all three animated shorts The Spectre, Jonah Hex, and Green Arrow, the collection will also include a new short entitled Superman/Shazam! The Return of Black Adam where Justice League Unlimited voice artists Jerry O’Connell will reprise the role of Captain Marvel and George Newbern will reprise the role of Superman.  Black Adam will be voiced by Arnold Vosloo from The Mummy and Shazam will be voiced by legendary actor James Garner.

DC Showcase will arrive to DVD and Blu-ray November 9, 2010.

Warner Bros. and DC Animation are releasing Batman Beyond in its entirety to DVD this November 23, 2010. 

This special edition set will include all 52 episodes, new bonus content, a booklet with artwork from the DC archives, commentary tracks, and a bonus 9th disc that will include three all new featurettes, and a Secret Origin documentary!
