RoboCop Trilogy coming to Blu-ray in October
RoboCop and its sequels are heading to Blu-ray this October 5th, 2010 in high-definition.
The RoboCop Trilogy Blu-ray will include all three RoboCop films that were based on a good cop named Murphy who is half man, half machine after being gunned down by criminals. Now he sets out to clean up the streets of Detroit by any means necessary.
Here’s a summary of each film in the set:
RoboCop 1
From the director of Total Recall comes a high-adrenaline, “sleek” (Time) sci-fi thriller about a policeman who’s half man, half machine. When a good cop (Peter Weller) is murdered by criminals, innovative scientists piece him back together as an unstoppable crime-fighting cyborg called RoboCop. Tormented by the memory of his death, he is out for justice – and revenge.
RoboCop 2
Robocop (Peter Weller) returns to battle his toughest opponent yet: his replacement! But not only is the new cyborg’s weaponry more sophisticated than Robocop’s, it contains the brain of a madman! It will take everything Robocop has to save Detroit – and himself — from total destruction.
RoboCop 3
It’s Megacop vs. Megacorp in this edge-of-your-seat sci-fi action film. When a ruthless corporation that has a stranglehold on Motor City begins kicking families out of their homes for a new real estate project, Robocop (Robert Burke) and a band of renegades fight to save them in an all-out battle for Detroit.
Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure 3 COULD happen

In December of 2009, Keanu Reeves announced that he and Alex Winter are working on a third Bill and Ted movie.
According to MovieWeb, Alex revealed that he has met recently with Reeves and the original film’s writers to kick around ideas. He has also said that many of the ideas that are being used are going to be too dark for children to see. Interesting…

Judge Dredd remake has a title, cast, and plot
IM Global has announced that the remake of Judge Dredd that’s coming to theaters will now simply be called Dredd. They also announced the plot of the movie:
“"Dredd" takes us to the wild streets of Mega City One, the lone oasis of quasi-civilization on Cursed Earth. Judge Dredd is the most feared of elite Street Judges, with the power to enforce the law, sentence offenders and execute them on the spot – if necessary.”
Judge Dredd will be played by Karl Urban, and Olivia Thirlby will play Cassandra Anderson.
The movie will be directed by Peter Travis (Vantage Point) and pre-production has already started in South Africa.
Watch for Dredd when he comes to theaters in 2012.

Here’s what the movie would have been about:
What happens when the last remaining male and female blue-footed newts on the planet are forced together by science to save the species, and they can’t stand each other? That’s the problem facing Newt and Brooke, who embark on a perilous, unpredictable adventure and discover that finding a mate never goes as planned, even when you only have one choice. Love, it turns out, is not a science.

Captain America movie will reference the Thor movie
Check out what director Joe Johnston recently said to CBM about the tie-ins for Captain America: The First Avenger to the other movies in the Marvel Universe:
JOE JOHNSTON: There are links between all the MARVEL films, mostly ones that only the fans will pick up on. We have several subtle references to certain elements in THOR, but since CAPTAIN AMERICA is a period picture taking place in the 40′s, there are fewer opportunities for contemporary links to the rest of the MARVEL universe. We can, however, create events in our story that will be paid off in AVENGERS and other MARVEL pictures.
Humm… what could a movie taking place in the 40’s possibly reference in the Thor movie?
The Cosmic Cube that Loki is seen with in Thor perhaps? Click the photo below to read more about the cube!
Check out Captain America: The First Avenger when it arrives in theaters July 22, 2011.
A wizard is cast in The Hobbit
The Hobbit is moving forward with casting, and this week we got the news from Lord of the Rings fan site TheOneRing.net that actor Sylvester McCoy is going to play one of two wizards that are going to be in the movie.
Sylvester McCoy confirms he is in contention with another actor for one of two Wizard parts in the upcoming ‘Hobbit’ films. We know Ian McKellen will like to return as Gandalf, and we’ve heard some rumblings of Radagast the Brown having a bigger role, so if you put two and two together — is Sylvester McCoy up for Radagast the Brown?
"I am being cast in The Hobbit," he said. "We’re currently in negotiations. There are two of us under consideration. It’s not the Bilbo role, but could be bigger."
The Hobbit is scheduled for release in December 2012.
