Looks like another big-name is joining the Wonder Woman television series… this time it comes in the form of actor Cary Elwes (Saw, The Princess Bride, Robin Hood: Men in Tights).

Elwes will play the part of the CEO of Themyscira Industries, which is the company that belongs to Diana Prince (Adrianna Palicki). He manages the day-to-day operations while Prince goes out and fights crime as Wonder Woman and could eventually serve as Wonder Woman’s romantic interest.

No word yet on a premiere date.

NBC’s series The Cape has been cancelled… and the bad news is that if you’re a fan you won’t even get to see the finale on television.

BUT, you will get to see it online at some point in time as NBC has plans to release the two-part finale online at NBC.com.

A rep for NBC confirms … that the show’s season finale, which was to have aired this past Monday as part of a double-header, instead will premiere online at NBC.com sometime in March.

The quote that was received from TVLine also went on to say that the last episode drew in its lowest ratings ever.

Sad… the show had potential.

This actually looks really cool!! Tron: Uprising will be a continuation of the Tron franchise and air on the Disney XD channel during the Summer or 2012. 

Beck, a young program who becomes the unlikely leader of a revolution inside the computer world of The Grid. His mission is to free his home and friends from the reign of the villainous Clu 2 and his henchman General Tesler. Beck will be trained by Tron – the greatest warrior the Grid has ever known. Tron will not only teach Beck the fighting skills he needs to challenge this brutal military occupation, but will be a guide and mentor to him as he grows beyond his youthful, impulsive nature into a courageous, powerful leader. Destined to become the new protector of the system, Beck adopts Tron’s persona and becomes the archenemy of Tesler and his oppressive forces.

DC and WB are pushing out the promotional images for Green Lantern, and now here’s two more for us to enjoy.  One is of Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds) putting on the ring, and the other is Hal and Carol (Blake Lively) at the bar that Hal frequents.

Green Lantern premieres June 17, 2011.

HBO announced that the third season of True Blood will be made available on DVD and Blu-ray on May 31, 2011.  The MSRP will be $59.99 for a 5-disc DVD set and $79.98 for a 5-disc Blu-ray set (check out the great Amazon deals below though!!!).  It will contain all 12 episodes and plenty of commentaries and featurettes.

Screen Gems has announced the release date for the next Resident Evil film with Milla Jovovich in the staring role for September 14, 2012.

The fourth film was supposed to be the last, but since it took in a great worldwide gross, Screen Gems decided to give it another go.  No word on the producer or director yet, but chances are, we’ll see Paul WS Anderson back at the helm.

Kung Fu Panda 2 will arrive in theaters May 26, 2011.

Puss in Boots will arrive in theaters November 4, 2011.

Puss In Boots – one of the most beloved characters of the Shrek universe – tells the hilarious and courageous (daring, bold, brave) tale of Puss’s (Antonio Banderas) early adventures as he teams with mastermind Humpty Dumpty (Zach Galifianakis) and the street-savvy Kitty (Salma Hayek) to steal the famed Goose that lays the Golden Eggs.

Not sure how I feel about this… but actress Diane Lane has been cast as Martha Kent (Superman’s older mother) for Zack Snyder and Christopher Nolan’s upcoming Superman movie.

We are thrilled to have Diane in the role because she can convey the wisdom and the wonder of a woman whose son has powers beyond her imagination.”
Lane will star with Henry Cavill, who was recently announced as the new Clark Kent/Superman.

Lane earned an Academy Award® nomination for her performance in the 2002 drama “Unfaithful.” She most recently starred in the family hit “Secretariat.” She next stars in the HBO feature “Cinema Verite,” opposite Tim Robbins and James Gandolfini. Lane’s long list of film credits also includes “Nights in Rodanthe,” “Hollywoodland,” “Must Love Dogs,” “Under the Tuscan Sun,” “Perfect Storm,” “My Dog Skip,” “Chaplin,” “The Cotton Club” and “A Little Romance,” to name only a portion.

Charles Roven, Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan and Deborah Snyder are the producers of the film. The screenplay is being written by David S. Goyer based on a story by Goyer and Nolan. Thomas Tull and Lloyd Phillips are serving as executive producers.

Slated for release in December 2012, the new Superman movie will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

British actress Elizabeth Hurley was recently cast to play a villainous role in NBC’s upcoming Wonder Woman TV series. 

You may remember Hurley from the Austin Powers movies, the Brendan Fraser movie Bedazzled, and the Matthew Perry comedy Serving Sara.

"Thrilled to be doing the NBC pilot Wonder Woman. I’ll be playing the evil villain. Can’t wait."

No other details are known at this time, but Hurley joins actress Adrianne Palicki (Friday Night Lights) who will star in the title role of Wonder Woman.  David E. Kelley and Bill D’Elia (Boston Legal, Harry’s Law) are the executive producers.
