Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance will be in theaters in 2011.

At Comic-Con, Capcom’s Keiji Inafune, revealed a few more hints about what to expect in Mega Man Universe.

"We wanted to preserve as much as we can of the classic 8-bit Mega Man feel, while allowing players to project their own Mega Man onto the game.  We wanted to create a platform where players can play as their favorite version of Mega Man, another Capcom character — or maybe a different character completely.  You’ll be able to play as the Mega Man of your dreams."

"The game will also unite Mega Man fans, putting them together in one specific place."

Then someone asked why the original box was included in the trailer:

"We talked about how crappy the original package art was, but there’s somebody out there that loves that one and probably wants to play as him.  We made the trailer purposely mysterious, because we wanted to play on the idea of what Mega Man is.”

THQ revealed that they’re working on a sequel to last year’s Marvel Super Hero Squad game called Marvel Super Hero Squad: The Infinity Gauntlet.  The storyline will follow Thanos and Doctor Doom and his Lethal Legion attempting to obtain the Infinity Gauntlet to rule the universe, and the Super Hero Squad’s efforts to stop them. 

This time around, the game will include a new puzzle element that will require characters to use their individual powers to overcome obstacles and travel through certain environments.  Co-operative gameplay will still be available in the sequel, as will a large roster of Marvel’s most famous heroes and villains. 

No release date is known at this time.

Microsoft made a few announcements this week, and among them was the official price of their upcoming motion-controlled peripheral Kinect. 

Kinect by itself will run $150 and would come with a game called Kinect Adventures. 

Microsoft Kinect will launch November 4, 2010.

Netflix CEO, Reed Hastings, announced that soon you will no longer need a disc to enjoy Netflix on the Playstation 3.

“Before our next call in October, we expect to be launching a major new version of our Sony PS3 user interface which doesn’t require a disc and is dynamically updated continuously with the latest Netflix UI improvements.”

He also added that the TV show content will be enhanced as well…

“In terms of streaming content, we are rapidly expanding our TV shows available for streaming and since our last call we have added thousands of TV episodes from new deals with Fox, MTV Networks and Warner Television. These shows include all seasons of “24,” “Futurama,” “Lie To Me,” “The Chapelle Show,” “Nip/Tuck” and “Veronica Mars,” and in a few weeks all seasons of “The Family Guy” will be available to stream as well. We see TV shows as equally important to our franchise as movies.”

Super cool… now just to hope that the Wii gets the same treatment!

After you see Green Lantern in the theaters, you’ll be able to play out some of the material in the movie when Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters arrives on your Wii, PS3, Xbox 360, and DS!

There are no details about the game at this time, but from the title we gather that you’ll be fighting the robotic Manhunters, creations of the Guardians to keep order in the galaxy, that eventually revolted. 

The game is developed by Double Helix games and will be available in the third quarter of 2011.

Missed out on any of the retailers exclusive offers for Transformers: War for Cybertron?  Don’t fret, because next week you’ll be able to download them all via a new map and character pack coming from Activision.

The Map and Character Pack will include former pre-order characters: Shockwave, Demolisher, and Jazz, then adds new additions like Scattershot and Onslaught who will be playable in Escalation mode and have their chassis available for multiplayer mode.  The pack will also contain four new maps:  District & Forsaken for Escalation mode, and Havok & Fortress for multiplayer mode.

The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Disney has asked Pixar help them develop the next Muppet movie. 

Beyond whatever advice might have come down for the project at hand, the fact that Pixar has its fingers in the Muppets pie suggests that Disney, under the new regime of Rich Ross and Sean Bailey, is intent on taking advantage of its subsidiary’s storytelling abilities.

In other words, this is the second recent example of the animation house assisting parent Disney with a live-action feature.

Good news!  Pixar is always good at new ideas and making something that much better.

IGN spoke with Underworld director Len Wiseman and got the scoop that Underworld 4 is in the planning stages and could possibly bring back Kate Beckinsale!

"It’s all being written and talked about and hopefully all comes together, so we’re seeing how things happen. But we’re all keeping our fingers crossed."

Will Kate Beckinsale return as Selene?

"Yes. That’s the plan.  We’re both waiting to see what kind of story comes together. It’s just getting the script to a certain place where we’re both happy with it."

The LA Times spoke with director Joe Johnston and got him to open up about Steve Rogers in Captain America: The First Avenger.  In the interview, Johnston said he’s reinterpreting who Steve Rogers is and won’t have him patriotic towards the USA like he is (heavily) in the comic books.

"We’re sort of putting a slightly different spin on Steve Rogers.  He’s a guy that wants to serve his country, but he’s not a flag-waver. We’re reinterpreting what the comic book version of Steve Rogers was. He’s just a good person. We make a point of that in the script: Don’t change who you are once you go from Steve Rogers to this super-soldier."

"It’s also the idea that this is not about America so much as it is about the spirit of doing the right thing. It’s an international cast and an international story. It’s about what makes America great and what make the rest of the world great too."

So, in other words, we want this film to do well outside of the United States, so instead of him being super patriotic towards America, we’re going to make him more about the Earth as a whole.  Dumb!  Why else is his name Captain America?  Guess they can’t get away with changing it to Captain Planet or they would!

Captain America: The First Avenger is due in theaters July 22, 2011.

Sony Online Entertainment and DC Entertainment have revealed some of the voice cast for the upcoming DC Universe Online game, and so far, they’re doing a good casting job!

Here’s who they’ve announced:

Mark Hamill as The Joker (Mark voiced the Joker for all seasons of Batman: The Animated Series, Justice League, and recently Batman: Arkham Asylum… by far, he’s the fan’s favorite for The Joker)

Kevin Conroy as Batman (Kevin voiced Batman for all seasons of Batman: The Animated Series, Justice League, Justice League: Unlimited and recently Batman: Arkham Asylum… by far, he’s the fan’s favorite for Batman)

Adam Baldwin as Superman (Adam Baldwin is another familiar voice to the DC Comics universe… he voiced Superman in the animated movie Superman: Doomsday and then voiced multiple characters on Justice League like Jonah Hex, Hal Jordan, Rick Flagg Jr., Benjamin Knox, Bonk, and more).

Gina Torres as Wonder Woman (Gina Torres voiced DC Comics characters in the past like Vixen on the hit animated series Justice League and most recently voiced SuperWoman in Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths.)

James Marsters as Lex Luthor (James is no stranger to the DC Comics universe… he’s played Superman’s arch nemesis Brainiac on Smallville for several seasons, and he voiced Lex Luthor in Superman: Doomsday)
